Qu’Appelle Valley’s high inventory and balanced market is seeing activity from established couples and families from more urban environments, such as Regina, according to the RE/MAX 2019 Recreational Property Report. While number of sales has decreased, sales that have occurred are of higher-priced recreational properties, leading to an increase of median price of waterfront properties from $309,900 in 2018 to $390,000 in 2019. The median price of non-waterfront properties comes in at $160,000. However, the state of the economy, government uncertainty, and the stress test affecting younger families’ ability to buy, have affected the market overall, leading to a lack of sales. Sales aren’t expected to pick up until next spring where buyers flock to the area looking for recreational properties that are conducive to water activities, have close proximity to restaurants and boast scenic views.

Qu’Appelle Valley Market Conditions:

  • Waterfront properties up 26% year over year
  • Non-waterfront properties down 15% year over year
